Percy Jackson
Percy Jackson is a Greek demigod, son of Poseidon, the god of the sea, and Sally Jackson, a mortal woman. He is the protagonist and narrator of Rick Riordan's Camp Half-Blood Chronicles, which encompass the Percy Jackson & the Olympians, The Heroes of Olympus, and The Trials of Apollo series. Upon discovering his divine heritage, Percy embarks on numerous quests, utilizing his unique abilities to protect both the mortal and immortal worlds from ancient mythological threats, most notably the rising power of the Titan Kronos.

Character Overview
Introduction
Perseus "Percy" Jackson is introduced as a twelve-year-old boy with ADHD and dyslexia. These are later revealed to be traits common among demigods: ADHD stems from his innate battlefield reflexes, and his brain is hardwired to read Ancient Greek rather than English. Percy is characterized by his fierce loyalty to friends and family, which is often described as his fatal flaw. He is known for his bravery, sarcastic wit, and strong sense of justice. Over the course of the series, he grows into a skilled warrior and a respected leader at Camp Half-Blood, the training ground for Greek demigods.
Parentage and Family
Percy is the son of Poseidon, one of the "Big Three" Greek gods (the others being Zeus and Hades), and Sally Jackson, a mortal woman. His mother initially married Gabe Ugliano, an abusive man whose strong mortal scent helped mask Percy's powerful demigod aura from monsters. Sally later marries Paul Blofis, a kind English teacher whom Percy comes to respect. Percy has a half-brother, Tyson, who is a Cyclops and also a son of Poseidon. He also has a younger mortal half-sister, Estelle Blofis.

Abilities and Possessions
Demigod Abilities
As a son of Poseidon, Percy possesses a range of inherent abilities:
Hydrokinesis
Percy has extensive control over water. He can manipulate water in various forms, create tsunamis and whirlpools, and even breathe underwater. Water also energizes and heals him.
Geokinesis (Limited)
He can create minor earthquakes, a power inherited from Poseidon's domain over earthquakes.
Atmokinesis (Limited)
Percy can create small, localized storms.
Equine Communication
He can communicate with horses and other horse-like creatures, including pegasi, as Poseidon is their creator.
Enhanced Physical Attributes
Percy possesses superhuman strength, agility, speed, and reflexes, common to demigods and further enhanced by his divine parentage.
Swordsmanship
Percy is an exceptionally skilled swordsman, proficient in ancient Greek fighting styles.
Magical Items
Anaklusmos (Riptide)
Percy's signature weapon is Anaklusmos, or Riptide, a sword made of Celestial bronze. In its disguised form, it's a ballpoint pen. When uncapped, it transforms into a three-foot-long sword. Riptide will always return to Percy's pocket if lost. It is ineffective against mortals but lethal to gods, demigods, and monsters.
Tyson's Shield
A shield given to him by his half-brother Tyson. It is a wristwatch that expands into a full-sized shield engraved with images of their adventures.
The Curse of Achilles (Formerly)
For a time, Percy bore the Curse of Achilles after bathing in the River Styx. This made him nearly invulnerable, except for a small spot on his lower back. He lost this invulnerability when he crossed the Little Tiber into Camp Jupiter.
Role in the Series
Percy Jackson & the Olympians
Throughout this series, Percy is the central figure. He discovers his identity, arrives at Camp Half-Blood, and is quickly thrust into quests. He battles numerous monsters from Greek mythology, confronts treacherous demigods, and plays a pivotal role in preventing the Titan Lord Kronos from overthrowing the Olympian gods. Key quests include retrieving Zeus's master bolt, journeying through the Sea of Monsters, bearing the Titan's curse, navigating the Labyrinth, and leading the demigods in the Battle of Manhattan against Kronos's forces.
The Heroes of Olympus
In this sequel series, Percy is one of the seven demigods of the new Great Prophecy. He initially suffers from amnesia, brought on by the goddess Hera, and finds himself at Camp Jupiter, the Roman counterpart to Camp Half-Blood. He works to unite the Greek and Roman demigods against the earth goddess Gaea and her giant children. His journey includes traveling to Alaska, venturing into Tartarus with Annabeth Chase, and fighting in the final battle against Gaea's forces in Greece.
The Trials of Apollo
Percy makes appearances in this series, offering aid and support to the god Apollo, who has been cast down to earth as a mortal teenager named Lester Papadopoulos. While no longer the central protagonist, his experience and power remain valuable to the new heroes.
Relationships
Annabeth Chase
Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, is Percy's closest friend and later his girlfriend. Their relationship develops throughout the series, built on mutual respect, trust, and shared experiences in numerous quests and battles. She is an intelligent and skilled strategist.

Sally Jackson

However, as Percy proves himself a hero, Poseidon openly acknowledges him and expresses pride in his accomplishments. Percy often feels a connection to the sea and his father's domain.
Tyson
Percy's Cyclops half-brother. Initially, Percy is embarrassed by Tyson, but they soon form a strong brotherly bond. Tyson is a skilled blacksmith and a loyal companion.
