THE 12 AXES TEST

What is the 12 AXES test?

12 AXES is a political values test that describes your views across twelve two-ended scales. Instead of assigning only a left–right label, this version explores how you weigh personal freedom, decision-making, international cooperation, economic choices and social change.

On Percy Jackson Cabin, you can take a free 36-question or 60-question questionnaire without signing up. Both cover the same twelve axes. You receive a values chart, explanations of each scale, and comparisons with eight editorial reference profiles. Our questions and scoring form an independent version of the test.

Which twelve axes does this test measure?

Our 12 AXES test groups its twelve dimensions into four areas. Read each pair as a separate political trade-off: supporting public services, for example, does not automatically determine your views on personal liberty or international cooperation.

12 AXES and the two-axis political compass

A two-axis political compass places a result on one economic scale and one social scale. This 12 AXES test keeps twelve scales visible, so views about markets, public provision, liberty or culture can point in different directions.

The extra dimensions give you more detail to reflect on, not a guarantee of scientific accuracy. Different political tests choose different questions and definitions; their percentages and labels are not interchangeable.

How to read your 12 AXES results

Your 12 AXES report shows a percentage at each end of every measured axis. Read these scales before the profile match: each pair totals 100%, and a middle score can reflect either moderate views or mixed answers. A match describes similarity to a reference profile, not a political identity.

A direction, not a grade

A score near the middle can reflect moderate answers or different judgments across situations. It does not mean you answered poorly.

A comparison, not an identity

Profile similarity compares all twelve values with eight editorial reference profiles. It is not a probability that you belong to a political movement.

In this example, 68% leans toward personal liberty and 32% toward collective security. They add to 100%; they are not shares of the population.

Is the 12 AXES test free, and how long does it take?

Yes. Both versions are free and require no account. The 36-question version takes about five minutes; the 60-question version takes about nine. Both cover all twelve axes, with three or five questions per axis. These are estimates, so take the time you need.

How are 12 AXES scores calculated?

Answers are mapped onto each axis. Positive and reverse-worded statements are averaged separately, then given equal weight. The two ends of each scale add to 100%.

Does skipping count as neutral?

No. Skipped questions are excluded. An axis needs at least one answer in each wording direction; otherwise it stays unmeasured. Reference matches appear only when all twelve axes can be measured.

Is this the same as other 12 AXES tests?

No. This is an independent questionnaire on Percy Jackson Cabin, with its own questions, scoring and reference profiles. Scores from different tests are not directly comparable.

Are my answers or results public?

The quiz saves answers in this browser, not to your account. A report link reveals your twelve axis values and test length, not your individual answers. Comments are public and separate from your saved answers.

Can I come back or change my answers?

Yes, in the same browser with local storage available. You can revisit questions, switch language and continue. Starting over clears the saved attempt; using another device will not restore it.
